Energy Supplier - We undertook a full review of the strategy & methods of forecasting energy, income and costs (imbalance, energy, DUoS, TNUoS, BSUoS, ROCS, agency, meter provision) for an energy supplier. The review identified operational issues and risks – including an assessment of data quality - and included independent models to forecast energy, income & costs for comparison.
Regulator - Engage recently completed an independent study for Ofgem and the gas Performance Assurance Workgroup which identified and quantified current and future risks to fair and equitable gas settlement between shippers. The project involved analysing the Nexus business process requirements (detailing significant changes to gas settlement processes from 2015), relevant modifications and UNC legal text and building a dynamic model to simulate future gas settlement processes. The model quantified each risk identified by using industry data and applying relevant statistical distributions. The final report ranked the severity of each risk and will help shape development of gas performance assurance targets.
