Energy & Utilities Consulting Stakeholder Engagement

Engage facilitated a Stakeholder Engagement Event on behalf of the Gas Transporters, to inform and shape the Business Plans that they would submit to Ofgem as part of the Price Control Review Process. The event was targeted at high level gas industry representatives including Ofgem. Following the event, Engage submitted a comprehensive report.

Energy Regulator - Engage provided consultancy support and subject matter expertise to an Energy Regulator's National Smart Metering Programme to develop a series of decision papers to shape and underpin an agreed regulatory and policy framework which will enable optimal consumer interaction with smart meters. This involved leading industry stakeholder engagement workshops and public consultations with Suppliers, Network companies and Consumer Groups to drive out solutions for the Smart Metering implementation. These included: Pay-As-You-Go; Smart Billing; Customer Web Portal; and the In-Home-Display.

Trade Association - On behalf of Suppliers, Meter Manufacturers and Meter Asset providers, managed the process to appoint a 3rd party agent to act as Scheme Operator for the Smart Metering Device Assurance Regime. This included stakeholder management, requirement identification and definition, Request for Procurement (RFP) documentation, vendor management, response evaluation and appointment recommendation. 

Metering Services Organisation - Engage facilitated Stakeholder input into a consultation on the proposed pricing approach in relation to the Backstop Meter Provider of Last Resort (B-MPoLR) and National Meter Manager (NMM) obligations set out by Ofgem in July 2012. This included facilitating a number of workshops with key industry stakeholders, bi-lateral meetings where required and presentation and feedback of key findings.

Trade Association - Engage were commissioned to undertake a Privacy Impact Assessment to identify the privacy risks in the context of the benefits to consumers and society. We documented our findings in detail, including our engagement with Stakeholders, distilling the key themes and points of view. The report was used extensively by Network Operators in formulating their responses to the BEIS (previously DECC) consultation on privacy and access to data.
