The Engage Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Administration Service is aimed specifically at organisations that require an external party to assess, administer and implement the scheme on their behalf. |
The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) is the mandatory emissions trading scheme for large non-energy intensive organisations that are not captured by existing legislation/schemes. Organisations are obligated to comply with the CRC under the terms of the Climate Change Bill. The CRC is a “Cap and Trade” scheme which restricts organisations CO2 emissions by issuing/selling a limited number of allowances.
It is the organisation’s duty to determine whether it is impacted by the CRC during 2009. |
Your organisation will be subject to the CRC if it: |
has at least one meter settled on the half-hourly market; and |
its total half-hourly metered electricity usage is greater than 6,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2008 |
The CRC Administration Service is aimed at all organisations that are affected by the CRC including;
the 20,000 organisations required to make an information disclosure; and |
the 5,000 organisations that will be required to register and participate in the scheme. |
| CRC implementation will involve different departments of an organisation, including finance, environment, procurement, etc; therefore expertise in project management, energy sector, emissions trading, compliance and data analysis is essential. |
| We can help you to ensure that: |
Your organisation won’t incur penalties or suffer reputational damage due to league table ranking; and |
Your carbon reduction targets are met through accurate and timely data submission. |
