We are delighted to announce that, following a competitive tender undertaken by Xoserve, we have been appointed the Allocation of Unidentified Gas Expert (AUGE) for a period of up to 5 years.
The AUGE undertakes expert analysis on the sources of Unidentified Gas (UIG) and, in consultation with the Industry, establishes a methodology for deriving UIG Weighting Factors for use in the following Gas Year (1st October – 30th September). The Weighting Factors produced are used in the gas settlement Nomination, Allocation and Reconciliation processes to distribute UIG across Supply Points.
The fair and equitable allocation of UIG supports effective competition, as it influences the wholesale charges between Shippers and Suppliers and hence the retail tariffs that Suppliers offer customers.
John Peters, Managing Director at Engage, commented, “We are delighted to have been appointed as the AUGE. We recognise that fair and equitable allocation of Unidentified Gas supports effective competition and we are committed to achieving this, impartially, through proactive stakeholder engagement and diligent application of our expertise. We very much look forward to working with Xoserve and serving all industry stakeholders”.
Andrew Szabo, Chief Customer Officer at Xoserve, commented, “We are excited to start work with Engage Consulting this month and initiate the works that will establish the UIG Weighting Factors that will be used in Gas Year 2021/22”.
