At Engage Consulting, our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility runs through everything we do. We are proud to share that we recently donated £100 to support Help for Heroes through a very special community event in Sheffield, one that holds a personal connection for our team.
On Sunday 10 May 2026, the talented local group Ladies Voices took to the stage at The Montgomery Theatre, Sheffield, for We Can Be Heroes, an afternoon of music performed in aid of Help for Heroes. Among the performers was the wife of our colleague Craig Handford, making the occasion especially meaningful for everyone at Engage.
“This was a special event for me personally, and I’m incredibly proud that Engage Consulting could play a part in supporting such an important cause. Seeing the community come together and knowing that the performance included someone close to me, made it all the more meaningful. It’s a reminder of the power of music to connect people while making a real difference to the lives of others.” – Craig Handford – Principal Consultant
An afternoon of music and meaning
We Can Be Heroes brought together a dynamic ensemble of female vocal talent for a stirring musical journey of powerful harmonies and moving performances. From emotional ballads to uplifting anthems, the concert celebrated the ability of music to connect, heal and empower, all while raising vital funds for a cause close to many hearts.
With tickets starting from just £13, the performance offered the local community an accessible and inspiring way to spend a Sunday afternoon, while contributing to a charity that makes a real difference to those who have served.
Supporting a vital cause
Every ticket sold supported Help for Heroes, the UK charity dedicated to helping veterans and their families live well after service. Founded in 2007, the charity provides life-changing physical, mental and financial support to members of the Armed Forces community, no matter when or where they served.
For the performers, the cause was deeply personal. As an event spokesperson explained:
“This concert is about more than music, it’s about celebrating courage, community, and the power of coming together for something meaningful. We want audiences to leave feeling uplifted, inspired, and proud to have supported such an important cause. Many of our members have family who have served, so it means a lot to be supporting this charity with such a special event.”
Proud to play our part
Engage Consulting was delighted to lend its support to We Can Be Heroes and to the outstanding work of Help for Heroes. Supporting community-led events like this, particularly one with such a close link to a member of our own team, reflects the values that have guided our approach to CSR for many years.
Kevin Mitchell, the Head of Operations and People at Engage Consulting, said “This was a great event, I’m happy we were able to contribute to its success. We are proud to provide support to our staff and their families in their charitable endeavours.”
We extend our congratulations to Ladies Voices on a memorable performance, and our thanks to everyone who attended and donated. Together, you helped ensure that the courage and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community continues to be recognised and supported.
