Engage Consulting is pleased to confirm that we have renewed our membership of the Women’s Utilities Network (WUN) for another year, marking our seventh consecutive year as a partner. Since first joining in 2020, we have stood alongside WUN through a period of significant change in the GB energy and utilities sector, and our continued support reflects a long-held belief that a diverse, well-supported workforce is essential to the industry’s future.
Seven years of standing behind WUN’s mission
WUN was founded to give women the skills and confidence they need to build lasting, fulfilling careers in the utility sector, and to help create workplaces where women join, stay and thrive through inclusive leadership and culture. When we reaffirmed our partnership in 2024, we spoke about the transformative power of diversity and equality. That conviction has only deepened. Across complex programmes such as Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS), the growth of energy flexibility services and the wider transition to a smart secure energy system, we see every day how much our sector benefits from a genuine breadth of perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking.
Diverse teams ask better questions, challenge assumptions and design solutions that work for a wider range of consumers. For a consultancy whose value rests on independent thinking and clear advice, that is central to the quality of work we deliver.
What our continued membership means in practice
Renewing for another year means our colleagues will again have full access to WUN’s programme of activity, including:
- Development pathways: WUN’s Arrive, Drive and Thrive frameworks, supporting women at every stage of their careers
- Events and networking: including the #IAmRemarkable workshops, and WUN’s presence at Utility Week Live
- Thought leadership: including WUN’s 2025 report, The Power of Culture, alongside ongoing blogs, podcasts and white papers on inclusive cultures and the role of women in the renewable transition
One of WUN’s real strengths is the breadth of its membership, which brings together organisations from across electricity, gas and water. Being part of that wider community gives our team valuable opportunities to learn from, and contribute to, conversations across the utilities landscape.
Looking ahead to year seven

Chris Cook, Head of Consultancy at Engage Consulting, said: “Reaching seven years of partnership with WUN is something we are genuinely proud of. The energy sector is changing rapidly, and the organisations that will navigate that change well are those investing in their people and building inclusive, supportive cultures. WUN does both, brilliantly, and we look forward to continuing to play our part.”
We will continue to encourage our team to make the most of the training, mentoring and networking opportunities WUN offers, and we look forward to seeing colleagues, clients and friends across the industry at WUN events throughout the year ahead.
