As part of a series of senior leadership promotions at Engage Consulting, Kevin Mitchell has been appointed Head of Operations and People – a newly defined role that reflects the business’s growing scale and ambition. The appointment sits alongside the recent promotion of Chris Cook to Head of Consultancy, as Engage strengthens its leadership team to support continued growth across the energy sector.
Two Decades of Growth at Engage
Kevin joined Engage in 2005 as a software tester, building on eight years’ experience in telecommunications and finance. Over two decades, he advanced through roles such as Test Lead, Test Manager, Head of Information Services, and Head of Service Delivery, gaining expertise in operational and technical areas essential to Engage’s client work.

What the Role Involves
As Head of Operations and People, Kevin is accountable for the effective running of Engage’s core operations, ensuring the business is set up to deliver consistently for clients and scale sustainably. In this role he is responsible for all central operational activities and finance operations through to people management, governance, and business continuity. Kevin will also lead on employee wellbeing and support professional development of the wider Engage teams.
The people dimension of this role is particularly significant. Engage recently retained its Investors in People Gold accreditation with outstanding results, achieving a benchmark score of 843 out of 900 – 114 points above the industry average. With a 98% positive rating for recognising and rewarding high performance, and assessors describing the culture as supportive, inclusive, and values-led, Kevin takes the reins of a people function with exceptionally strong foundations to build upon.
