Supporting Mental Health – Our Team’s Commitment to Making a Difference

Engage supports its staff in giving back to the community and supporting charities whenever possible. Recently, Chris Cook embarked on a 72-mile bike ride in support of the Just Giving Campaign set up by Beverley Yearwood in memory of her daughter Afrika, who passed away in May 2018 after battling with her mental health.

On May 18th, 2024, a group set out to complete a 52-mile bike ride from Kirkstall Dock to Skipton and back along the canal route. As an experienced rider, Chris completed an extra loop, bringing his total distance to 72 miles.

The bike ride fundraiser from Leeds to Skipton and back aims to raise money to provide counselling and mental health services in the Rothwell Cluster for young people with mental health needs. Engage has donated £250 to this fundraising effort, and at the time of writing, the campaign had raised £2,315 of the £2,500 target. Contributions, no matter how small, can make a significant difference. If you’d like to donate or learn more about the fundraiser, please visit the JustGiving page.

Together, we can make a difference and support the mental well-being of our youth. Let’s ride towards a better future, one mile at a time.
