So, what is ISO 31000?
ISO 31000 provides a set of principles and guidelines for the design and implementation of a risk management framework, together with recommendations for applying a risk management process. That process can be applied to any activity, including decision-making at every level of an organisation.
In practice, the standard helps companies establish the backbone of their Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) by giving them a structured, principles-based way to weave risk management into the whole business. It guides organisations in:
